Chris Samuel a young man brought up in America, has all in his reach, the sky is the limit for him, can involve and enjoy all that he wanted but unlike many young people his mind was not set on earthly things and temporal joy. He has set his mind on values, purpose in life, His master Jesus Christ, serving others, seeking the needy and sharing joy and happiness which is inner joy and peace that only Christ can give. His heart was seeking joy and peace at the presence of Christ and serving the poor and neglected people groups of India and elsewhere.

After finishing his education at the Luther Rice Seminary he makes it his duty to serve the people in India. While serving the Lord among the Tribal people of India in the mountain ranges, without him knowing he has infected with Malaria and jaundice which took his life suddenly on May 17,2007 just 17 days to his 26th birthday. But Chris has completed his race and his mission in a short period. He has influenced many, accomplished so much, shown to us that there is more to live for than be a self-centered life and an open door and need for the gospel work among these tribal people. It was in April 2007 that Chris spent time in Andra Pradesh with the KONDA Tribe. What he saw and experienced influenced him to commit his life to spend rest of it with them in serving then and bringing Christ into their lives. But the will and plan of God was otherwise. He wanted all of us have a part in this Kingdom building and rearing of this first generation Christians.

The following is an excerpt from his journal dated April 29, 2007 which inspired us to be part of this mission life. The reading of the same shall inspire us and bring accountability and responsibility to us into this people group and the effort to reaching them out.

"Nestled away among the verdant mountains of Andra Pradesh, there live hundreds of thousands of tribal peoples. Electricity, telephones, and other conveniences are foreign to them. They live, as did those before them, with no concept of the "modern" world bustling all around them. I spent just three days with one of those tribes, known as the Konda. Many of the men still wear loincloths and hunt with spears and bows.

Evg V.P. Fernandez has been working with these people for about five years now, and there has been a tremendous response. There are currently around 500 believers in several villages scattered throughout the valleys. There are four tribal believers now working as evangelists. This is a work that has great potential. With the prayers, involvement, and support of our assemblies, we could see thousands more come to Christ! This is a harvest field ripe with grain, but yet again, there are few laborers.

Not only are there opportunities to reach unreached groups, but there are abundant social ministries waiting. Drinking water, medicines, clothing, and many other needs remain wanting. Training of first generation believers is also crucial to the future of this work. This is a challenge for not just evangelists or missionaries, but an opening for all believers to be involved in the spiritual awakening of an entire people group! If you can preach or teach, you are needed. If you can distribute clothes, you are needed. If you can give proper medical care, you are needed.

There are millions in India and around the world in dire need of some spiritual food, the Bread of Life and the Living Water. How long will we ignore them? How long will we continue to worry only about ourselves? Brothers and sisters let us awaken from our stupor and emerge in the world following the footsteps of our Master, and walking the paths of our forefathers. The time is now, the opportunities are endless, and the responsibility is ours.

May we all continue to carry and share this vision that Chris left with us to reach out this unreached and abandoned people of tribal places with love of Christ and gospel of Salvation.
